Denali West Lodge was built in 1980 with logs that were cut and hauled from the surrounding forest. The lodge nestles in a white birch forest overlooking Lake Minchumina, the largest lake in interior Alaska and on the wilderness western border of Denali National Park and Preserve, with a spectacular view of Mt. McKinley. Your personal accommodations are private log cabins with wood stoves, set near the birch and cedar sauna and bath house, affording you the intimacy of the Alaskan wilderness in first class comfort. Alaskan meals featuring fresh baked breads and pastries, hearty main dishes and our garden fresh vegetables are served family style in the lodge. Avaliable in Febuarary and March for dog mushing, skiing and snow shoeing. Open for special groups in the summer. Flying only.
