A non-profit organization founded by residents in 1972, the Talkeetna Historical Society strives to protect Talkeetna's historical sites. The Talkeetna Historical Society features a variety of exhibits at their Little Red School House Museum and is host of the annual Moose Dropping Festival, a fundraiser held the second week of July.
