The Aliceville Prisoner of War camp was home to over 6,000 German prisoners of war (POWs) between June 1943, when the first train carrying German prisoners arrived at the Frisco Railroad Depot in Aliceville, and its closing in September 1945. The German POW Collection features hundreds of artifacts from the camp, including furniture, documents, photographs, uniforms, and such POW produced works of art as paintings, sculptures, and pottery. With uniforms, weaponry, maps, photos, and other service-related memorabilia, the American Heroes exhibit is dedicated to honoring and preserving the history of Alabama patriots who have served in all branches of the armed forces of the United States of America. Housed in the former Aliceville Coca-Cola Bottling plant, this museum features Coca-Cola employee uniforms, photos, documents, and many Coca-Cola collectibles.
