Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Ave Maria Grotto was built by Brother Joseph Zoettl. Known as "Jerusalem in Miniature," this three-site of miniature reproductions of famous churches, shrines and buildings, on the grounds of Alabama's first and only Benedictine Abbey, is made of stone, concrete and other items from around the world.
