At one time a stagecoach stop, tavern and inn, Pope's Tavern is one of the the oldest structures in Florence. It served as a hospital for both Confederate and Union wounded during the Civil War. The museum houses beautiful antiques and fascinating artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries illustrating the uses of the structure as a tavern, inn and private residence. The second floor is filled with artifacts from the Civil War and items of local history.
