The Florence Times, a weekly, published its first edition July 4, 1890 and became a daily newspaper on Sept. 17, 1923. The paper, a member of the New York Times Regional Newspaper Group, became a morning paper in 1984 and to this day offers up to date information on Florence and the surrounding areas.
