A living repository housed in a former National Guard Armory built in 1936, for Company E, 167th Infantry Division, the Museum offers visitors a chance to explore everything from Native American artifacts to interesting local personalities." Exhibits touch on such subjects as the TVA, building of the 69,000-acre Lake Guntersville, hunting and fishing, C. E. Monroe, one of the nation’s foremost wildlife and magazine cover artists of the 1950's and 60's; John Gunter, the city’s namesake; his great-grandson, Will Rogers; and native birds.
