At the Crater of Diamonds State Park, the public can search over 37 plowed acres for diamonds and semi-precious gems, including amethyst, peridot, garnet, and quartz and keep what they find. Surrounded by buildings reminiscent of an old mining town, the center contains exhibits about diamonds, how to search for them, and a diamond hunters' hall of fame.
