Since I have taken an immense liking to Catalina Island, last weekend for the Labor Day holiday, I decided to take the family for a vacation to Avalon for a 2 night stay. Overall, we had a good time and we did enjoy spending time on the Island again. However, I am writing to report a very unpleasant experience we had the first night of our stay at Glenmore Plaza hotel.

First, the management misrepresented the size of the 2-bed room suite we had rented for 2 nights. Second, the service is really poor

Good day I was at Catalina and had a run in with a shark back in 1970, the shark was terminated and hung on dock, pictures were taken by news paper man, I would like to show grand children story as they are curious about my story, if it was your paper could you send copy of story to my email, thank you Dennis Clements

I have several issues from Spring 1948. I guess you may have the same archived copies, too? If not, I'd be happy to bring them with me when I visit this June 2011. I lived on the island, as a child in 1948-49, in the St. Catherine and on a street whose name I don't know.
