I remember well visiting 'Scoop' Morgan at night when I got off work at 'The Driftwood Cafe' and watch him run the old linotype machine. I was just fascinated by how that thing worked.
This was in 1961-62 population ~1200

I was a reporter at The Cambrian in the 1980s. Every deadline night, we smelled pipe tobacco smoke as we worked. There was no tobacco around. We all knew it had to be Scoop.

Trying to locate the gal who owned or managed the driftwood cafe in the late 60's or 70's. Thought her name was Virginia, someone else said Elaine.
