    A popular place for surfing and fishing for perch, corbina, croaker, cabezon and sand shark, this 330-acre beach is also popular in the summer for bare-handed fishing for California grunion, a species that only spawns on sandy southern California beaches. The beach extends three miles from Seal Beach to Huntington Beach City Pier and a bikeway connects it with Huntington State Beach, seven miles south.     A 45-acre recreational site, the Sports Complex at Huntington Central Park features several softball fields, soccer fields, seven bay batting cages, and two playgrounds. The batting cages are open to the public Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.  map

    One of the best beaches on the West Coast, located between Seapoint Avenue and Beach Boulevard, this beach features big waves that are well suited for experienced surfers and body boarders. The beach is open from 5:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and surfing is not allowed during the summer on the south side of the pier. "Dog Beach," at the northern end of the city beach, is one of the few beaches in California where your dog can run free. Sunset Vista Campground, open from the first of October through the end of May, features on-site electrical and water hook-ups for RVs. Tent camping is not permitted.  map
