One of the best beaches on the West Coast, located between Seapoint Avenue and Beach Boulevard, this beach features big waves that are well suited for experienced surfers and body boarders. The beach is open from 5:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and surfing is not allowed during the summer on the south side of the pier. "Dog Beach," at the northern end of the city beach, is one of the few beaches in California where your dog can run free. Sunset Vista Campground, open from the first of October through the end of May, features on-site electrical and water hook-ups for RVs. Tent camping is not permitted.
