Established by the County of Los Angeles Public Library in 1970, the Malibu Library's current collection includes a large selection of books, magazines and newspaper subscriptions, audio and video recordings, California topographic maps and more. Three special collections, the Arkel Erb Memorial Mountaineering Collection, which focuses on information west of the Rockies; Peter A. Horn Senior Citizen Collection, and the Sean Matthews Collection, which includes children's fiction and non-fiction picture books as well as children's books-on-tape; are also available at the Malibu Library.
