Mountain Mermaid

Originally built as the Sylvia Park Country Club in 1930, the Mermaid has been a casino, Jewish boys’ school theatre, legionnaire’s hall, the legendary Mermaid Tavern and more, but now the Mountain Mermaid is a botanical garden and a declared monument of historical, architectural and cultural significance. The Mountain Mermaid is a favorite for photographers and filmmakers with its period antiques, rich architectural details and mellow coloration.
