Situated between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Mojave is a 1.6 million-acre park consumed with sand dunes, volcanic cinder cones, Joshua tree forests, wildflowers, canyons, and mountains and mesas with long-abandoned mines, homesteads, and rock-walled military outposts. The Mojave, Great Basin and Sonoran, three of the four major North American deserts, are found at here. Visitors can enjoy such activities as hunting, camping, hiking, horseback riding, and backpacking while at the Mojave National Preserve.
