Operated by the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society, Pioneer Town is a museum and historical village that features many original restored structures that are furnished and contain artifacts of that period. These structures include the historic Stolte Packing Shed, Chapel of the Cross, a country store, silos, a barber shop, the Lizard Head Saloon, First State Bank, Doll & Toy House, Sand Creek School House, circa 1880's Peterson Cabin, working print and blacksmith shops, the States Mining Museum, which contains a replica of an old doctor's office; and the Sutherland Museum of Indian and Western History.
