The building is nice it cost the people $36 million. I found it curious that the tribal people were not present in any significant numbers. Later during casual converstaion at the CASino I foundout why. The musuem is not a tribally owned museum. Its a public entity and can only serve the interests of the public. the tribal peole did not want this and they certainly view the money spent on the building as a waste since there is no direct benefit to them. Also they have no authority or ownership in the museum, its material holdings, how its run, or how its culture is interpreted. Many are excluded from this process in favor of a few tribal people on the Musuem's board who are interested in thier own legacy rather than meeting the needs of the tribal people. I regret not being aware of this prior to visiting the museum. I can't support an entity who is disregarding the people from whom they are making thier livelihood. I thought this type of cutlural exploitation didn't occur within our great American country. Our great country was built on liberty for all. There is no cultural liberty in this. I will not be revisiting the musuem. I will be strongly encouraging my family and friends not to either, and niether should you.
