A Catholic, Jesuit university, one of 28 in the United States, Fairfield University is "a coeducational institution of higher learning whose primary objectives are to develop the creative intellectual potential of its students and to foster in them ethical and religious values and a sense of social responsibility." Comprised of six schools, four of which teach both undergraduate and graduate studies, Fairfield offers 34 undergraduate majors, 17 interdisciplinary minors, 35 graduate programs and 50 approved sites for studying abroad.
