A designated Trout Management Area, Sleeping Giant State Park gets its name from two miles of mountaintop resembling a sleeping giant. The 1.5-mile scenic trail leading to the stone observation tower on the peak of Mt. Carmel provides a fantastic view of Long Island Sound and the New Haven area.
