Owned and operated by the Shelton Historical Society, Shelton History Center is a one-acre site that contains five historic structures. The circa 1820 Brownson House is an example of late-Federal/early Greek Revival-style architecture. The 1872 Trap Falls School is the last surviving one-room school in Shelton. The circa 1860 Wilson Barn houses a permanent exhibit entitled "Three Centuries of Shelton, From Farming to Industry and Beyond," which traces Shelton's development from early European settlement through the 20th century; and a museum gift shop.
