What people need to understand is that Storrs is one village area in the TOWN of Mansfield. Other village areas include: Gurleyville, Atwoodville, Mansfield Center, Mansfield Depot, Four Corners, Merrow, Spring Hill... etc. So the population of Storrs -- within the actual boundaries -- is probably less than 500 people. UConn is in Storrs, and that's what puts the town on the map - but the town is Mansfield, not Storrs - just as Rockville is part of the town of Vernon.
