With collections and exhibits focused on regional history and Connecticut art, the museum features the work of Connecticut painters from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The Museum's permanent exhibit of 10,000 buttons includes buttons from all over the world, many from the 18th and 19 century, including buttons worn by George Washington, buttons on display at the 1878 Paris Exposition, picture buttons and buttons made of Czechoslovakian glass, Japanese enamel, ivory, china, pearls and jewels.
