A Smithsonian Institution museum which is located in the old historic Post Office building and occupies 75,000 square feet of the building, with 23,000 square feet devoted to exhibition space which contains a unique collection of airmail planes, stagecoaches, rare stamps, and letters. A 6,000 square foot research library, a stamp store, and a museum shop are also on site.
