Known as "the Castle," this museum is the oldest of the 14 Smithsonian museums in Washington and it houses the crypt of founder James Smithson. The focal point for information about the Institution's 17 museums and National Zoo in Washington, D.C. and two museums in New York City, the Smithsonian Information Center also contains an 18-minute video orientation, two interactive touch-screen stations with information on the Smithsonian in six languages, one scale model of the city and the Castle Café.
