This architecturally and historically important home was built in 1783 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was remodeled in 1891 in the rare "Steamboat Gothic" style. Craftsmen from the local shipyards, working under the direction of an architect brought from Italy, enlarged the house, added the whimsical embellishments of the Victorian style, and created a stunning interior resplendent with stained glass and carved woodwork. A total of five bedrooms, each spacious guestroom has its own personality and charm.
