  • Boca Grande Lighthouse Museum (circa 1890)

    Built by the U.S. Lighthouse Service to mark the southern tip of Gasparilla Island, this lighthouse is the oldest building on Gasparilla Island and is its most recognized landmark. The lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and houses a museum that displays exhibits on the Native Americans who first visited these shores, the Spanish who arrived in the 1500s, the local fishing industry, the history of the lighthouse, the development of the railroad, and the history of the town of Boca Grande.

    Built in 1949, this library contains a wide range of books and magazine, as well as a children's room and a reference section which contains over 10,000 volumes. The library grounds provide a lovely setting for art exhibitions, concerts, and lectures and features a charming fountain and beautiful gardens.
