Established as a refuge for migratory waterfowl and wading birds, this refuge lies on over 21,500 acres and surrounds the 2,200 acre Lake Woodruff, the 1,800 acre Lake Dexter, and numerous other waterways. Endangered and threatened species are in the refuge and visitors can enjoy fishing, wildlife viewing, bird watching, and nature trails while here.
