Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this historic house was originally built as the first officer's quarters on the naval station and many of the most important names in the country's history have stayed here for one reason of another including Thomas Edison, John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, and British Prime Minister Harold MacMillan. Daily guided tours are available and a Presidential gift shop is on site, as well as beautiful botanical gardens.
