Surrounded by Crystal River Preserve State Park, Crystal River Archaeological State Park is a 61-acre, pre-Columbian, Native American site with burial mounds, temple/platform mounds, a plaza area, and a substantial midden. One of the longest continuously occupied sites in Florida, this six-mound complex is a National Landmark and sits on the edge of an expansive coastal marsh.
