I am president of the Choir "LES JOYEUX MIGRATEURS"

Thank you

Lucile Graveline

Chartwell’s star-studded National Senior Star Final took place on Monday night at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario. 72-year-old Lucile Graveline from Granby, Quebec was crowned 2012 Senior Star winner after an impeccable vocal performance of Puccini’s famous arias, “O mio babbino caro.”

After devoting herself to her children for nearly 40 years, Lucile recently resumed her interest and passion for the stage and her win came as a wonderful surprise to her family. Lucile had all that she could wish for as a mother; her three children were members of the Canadian sailboarding team; her daughter Annick was World Champion in Guadeloupe, her son Éric competed in the Los Angeles Olympics, and Pierre won the Silver Medal at the Commonwealth Games in Bombay. The night of the event, her son flew in from California to surprise her as he sat with pride in the audience and later celebrated his mother’s victory.

“I never thought I’d win first place. It’s incredible. I was even more surprised and moved to see my son in the audience. It was a lovely surprise,” said Lucile as she exited the red carpet. Having earned a Master’s in Music from the Conservatoire de l’Université de Montréal and having studied opera with the famous Raoul Jobin, she will soon take advantage of Florida’s warm weather to rest and continue pursuing her passion in two choirs (one American and one Québécois).
