This national park is located on a vehicle-free barrier island which includes ocean, beach, dune, hammock, lagoon, salt marsh, and pine flatland habitats, as well as a turtle mound archeological site and nature and historical trails. An array of recreational activities are available on site including lagoon and surf fishing, boating, canoeing, surfing, sunbathing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, and backcountry camping.
