Franklin Delano Roosevelt built this house while he was Governor of New York and the house and furnishings have been carefully preserved very much as Roosevelt left them in 1945 when he died. A museum is adjacent to the house which displays memorabilia collected in Roosevelt's honor and visitors can also see the on site guest house, servants' quarters, and garage while at this site.
