Named for Georgia's first aviator, Ben T. Epps Sr., who began building and flying airplanes in Athens in 1907, this airport opened in 1917 and it is the closest airport to Dahlonega. The airport provides fuel, air freight, charter flights, flight instruction, and aircraft rentals and sales.
