Dedicated as a Heritage Preserve, this spectacular 5,664-acre conservation area was acquired from noted conservationist and businessman, Charles A. Smithgall, Jr. Visitors can also enjoy three picnic shelters, five miles of wilderness hiking trails and 18 miles of bicycling roads to explore hardwoods, streams, and wildlife while at this area. An elegant mountain retreat lodge is also located on the property that is three miles west of Helen.
