An earthen fort built during the Revolution to defend the once bustling seaport town of Sunbury, this historic site was rebuilt during the War of 1812 and was later used as a Civil War encampment. The site's museum features exhibits on civilian life and military life during Georgia's Colonial, Revolutionary, and Antebellum past and the grounds include a visitor's center, a one mile nature trail, and picnic sites.
