Built by Major James Stephens Bulloch, one of Roswell's first settlers, this magnificent Greek Revival-style mansion was the childhood home of Mittie Bulloch, the major's daughter, who married Theodore Roosevelt, Sr. in the mansion's dining room in December 22, 1853. They would eventually have Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, and Elliott, who would later be the father of future First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt. Bulloch's grounds feature 142 trees which are listed on the Historic Tree Register.
