This scenic, self-guided trail was completed in the 1940s and, for many years, was the route from New York to Florida along the eastern shores of the United States. The trail is abundant with stately Georgia pines, moss-covered oaks, and unspoiled rivers and travels through small Southern towns full of unique shops, country stores, and restaurants.
