Kilauea is the youngest and southeastern most famous volcanoes on the Big Island of Hawaii. The latest eruption was in 3 Jan 1983. In about 1790, one of these eruptions struck a large party of Hawaiian warriors, killing at least 80 people in the deadliest historical eruption to occur in what is now the United States.
