Known as the “Punchbowl” because of the fact that it is inside an extinct volcanic crater, the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific is the final resting place for soldiers from locations around the Pacific Theater, including Wake Island and Japanese POW camps. The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
