Opened in 1925, as the Davenport Municipal Art Gallery, the first municipal art gallery in Iowa; through a gift of 350 European and Mexican Colonial paintings, the Figge Art Museum's collections include more than 3,500 paintings, sculpture, and works on paper from the 16th century to the present. Over 600 public programs are held annually.
