Thought to be one of the finest and most original Victorian homes in Dubuque, this four-story Stick-style house with Eastlake effects was constructed by manufacturer and financier B.B. Richards. The award-winning home retains such original features as gas light fixtures, eight varieties of varnished woodwork, eight fireplaces, 15 different patterns of embossed wall coverings, original chandeliers, hand-painted and embossed tiles, elaborate built-ins, and over 80 stained glass windows. All guest rooms are air conditioned and have televisions, VCRs, and phones. A full breakfast is served.
