  • Geyser Park

    It is the only captive geyser in the world. It was discovered on November 30, 1937 when a drill went down 315 feet looking for a hot water source for a pool and unleashed the geyser. It is now capped and controlled by a timer and erupts every hour on the hour.   map

Historic Sites & Monuments

  • Brigham Young Memorial

    This is the site of a summer home cabin built in 1870 for Mormon Church President Brigham Young, in anticipation of a visit by him to the area. The cabin was used for many years as a stopping off place for President Young and other church leaders as they traveled through the area doing church business. The home was destroyed in 1944 in an attempt to move it to make room for a tourist motel.   map

  • Fairview Cemetery (circa 1800's)

    This cemetery is the burial place of the Carribou Jack Fairchild, who discovered gold in this area. The Wagon Box Grave, resting place of a family of seven who were killed by Indians, is also here. more...  map
