Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Old St. Patrick’s was founded as the first English-speaking parish in the city. One of the few buildings to survive the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the Romanesque-style church is the oldest public building in Chicago. Features of the magnificent building include 15 stained-glass windows, the “Faith, Hope & Charity” windows, and 12 side windows inspired by the Celtic designs of Ireland's Book of Kells.
