Old St. Patrick’s was founded as the first English-speaking parish in the city. One of the few buildings to survive the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the Romanesque style church is the oldest public building in the Chicago. Features of the magnificent building include 15 stained-glass windows, the “Faith, Hope & Charity” windows, and 12 side windows inspired by the Celtic designs of Ireland's Book of Kells. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
