One of the country's finest examples of French Second Empire architecture, the Reitz Home Museum is filled with authentic period furniture, silk damask-covered walls, hand painted ceilings, molded plaster friezes, French gilt chandeliers, intricately patterned hand-laid wood parquet floors, tiled and marbled fireplaces, walnut wainscoting in Moorish design, and stained glass windows. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
