Old Cathedral Complex (circa 1826) 205 Church Street, Vincennes, IN 47591, 812-882-5638, The oldest Catholic church in Indiana, this historic church stands on the site of three previous churches including the first log church in the area built in 1749. A bell is in the spire that hung in the original tower. Four bishops are buried in the crypt of the current cathedral and over 4,000 early citizens of Vincennes are buried in the adjoining cemetery. more...  |

Old French House & Indian Museum (circa 1806) 509 North 1st Street, Vincennes, IN 47591, First & Second Streets, 812-882-7886, 800-886-6443, Partitioned into two small rooms and a living room, this house was the home of French trader Michel Brouillet and has features including a massive double chimney with a fireplace in the living room, sparse furnishings throughout the house, and a rare enclosed bed in the front bedroom that has the date 1759 carved on its doors. The museum exhibits the four periods of American prehistory and features an exhibit of Mastodon bones found near Vincennes. more... |

George Rogers Clark National Historical Park 401 South Second Street, Vincennes, IN 47591, 812-882-1776, The site of an extremely important battle that occurred during the Revolutionary War, this park contains the largest memorial outside of Washington, D.C., a massive granite memorial that stands over 80 feet high on the Fort Sackville site. Inside the memorial is a bronze statue of George Rogers Clark and Clark's words carved into the limestone.
