Professor’s Steakhouse and Saloon is a full service restaurant and bar. A Hays icon since the ‘70’s, Professor’s has a adopted a completely fresh menu concept and strives to deliver only the best home cooked cuisine. They hand bread all of our appetizers, prepare sauces and dressings and proudly serve homemade green bean dumpling soup, chili and BBQ sauce. The atmosphere is nostalgic and unique featuring artwork from local artists. With a seating capacity of 140 and 3 dining areas, they can accommodate any group.

The staff is dedicated to providing outstanding service and will “go the extra mile” to please their guests. Professor’s is also proud to be recognized as one of the “8 Wonders of Northwest Kansas Cuisine.” They are the only restaurant in Hays to receive this honor.

This place has a neat old saloon atmosphere, the old style oak tables and chairs and the decor features some of the local history which is nice. Prices are reasonable and they have enough variety on the menu for most tastes even though I tend to order my two or three favorite sandwiches. Tried the chicken fried chicken and it was good.
