My father taught government and history at Holton High School in the early 1940's. For his Master's thesis at the Univ. of Kansas, he wrote the history of a certain period of Jackson County. There was also an article about him and his research in the Holton paper. I spent many hours as a young child in the Jackson County courthouse, playing with the rubber stamps that were hanging from a revolving stand, while he and my mother were researching. I have that thesis and the article, and wondered if you have it also.
