Operated by the Douglas County Historical Society, the Watkins Community Museum of History is housed in the former Land Mortgage Company and Watkins National Band, a Richardson Romanesque-style building constructed in the 1880's. Open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, the Watkins Community Museum of History has an extensive historical photograph collection and exhibits relating to Douglas County, Kansas.
