Honoring military veterans of all wars and peacetime, this monument is comprised of granite slabs with a bronze globe sitting atop the highest granite slab. This depicts the hands of veterans holding the world.

In particular the veterans' hands are holding the world aloft
'in freedom'. The hands are represented by the granite slabs. The world is represented by the bronze globe. That is why it is called 'Hands of Freedom'.

This tribute is thought to be to be the only tribute in the nation honoring all American veterans of all wars, during war or peacetime, still living or deceased.

The tribute was designed in 1989 by Architect, Maurice McMullen.
